WeatherStation and WeatherMeasurepoint

Hi Is the datasource for WeatherStation and WeatherMeasurepoint different? I tried to connect them even though they didnt have an id or a field that was in both datamodels besides from name and geometry. By using a comparison on geometry and name. I was able to match 400 out of 800 between the two datasets, using only active weatherstations and weathermeasurepoints with observation.sample newer than 1 hour ago. Is there a easier way to connect the WeatherMeasurepoint model with WeatherStation model or do they use the same datasource? Would I miss out on data if I only used the WeatherMeasurepoint datamodel?
